GREATER

The Bible is God’s story pointing us to something greater, His Son, Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate revelation of God's love and mercy and is worthy of our devotion. He is calling us to greater things.

Pastor Rodney is back in the house to kick off our new series, Greater, over the book of Hebrews. This week Pastor encourages us not to give up. When we feel like quitting, it is important to remember the greatness of Jesus and choose to live in awe of Him.

The same grace that saved us is the same grace that grows us. Last week, Pastor Rodney talked about what spiritual growth and maturity look like. This week, he tells us how we can grow into the greater things that God has for each of us.

Growth is a decision to surrender to the greater things God has for us. We grow by drawing near to God through reading the Word, praying, and gathering together. Our spiritual maturity, our growth, can be measured by how we love other people and how we handle suffering.

This week we’re talking about bitterness and forgiveness. We look at Hebrews 12 and the story of Jacob and Esau from the book of Genesis. Bitterness pollutes our lives, keeps us from reaching our potential, and presents us from having a close relationship with God. But forgiveness, done God’s way, will set us free.
