JUDAH
In the final week of "Judah", Pastor Clint Smith shows how Chronicles meticulously records the reigns of Judah's kings, highlighting their obedience or disobedience to God. From his message, we see the story of King Asa and how he exemplifies obedience bringing peace and trust bringing victory. However, Asa's reliance on human aid instead of God led to his downfall. Ultimately, Pastor Clint shows us the importance of obedience, trust in God, and the pursuit of a perfect king, culminating in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
In week two of "Judah", Pastor Heady preaches from 2 Chronicles 7:14, highlighting the importance of humility, prayer, and repentance for receiving God's blessings. He emphasizes that humility, as demonstrated by King Solomon, is essential in acknowledging God's sovereignty. Persistent prayer, as shown by Daniel, is crucial for building a deeper relationship with God and experiencing His intervention. Sincere repentance, illustrated by the story of the prodigal son, is necessary for forgiveness and restoration. Lastly, we are encouraged to put away aggression, reflecting Jesus' command to Peter to put his sword back, symbolizing acceptance of God's plan and embracing a peaceful approach. Listen and be challenged.
In week one of our new collection of talks entitled, "Judah", our Student Pastor, Sawyer Wilson preaches about Biblical stewardship, highlighting the importance of taking care of what’s right in front of us, just as Jesus would. Drawing from 1 and 2 Chronicles, the sermon illustrates the parallels between the story of Israel and our own lives and we are challenged to apply these principles in our lives, steward our relationships, resources, and responsibilities with the wisdom and guidance of God.
