“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1 NIV

North Church has initiated an expansion plan that will increase our footprint in Oklahoma City and renovate our existing facilities to better reach the next generation for Christ. Build His Church is a three-year project driven by the vision to create space for God’s work to flourish, not only at home but beyond.

The expansion is more than just a construction project; it’s a calling. In Pastor Rodney’s words, “We need a new facility today to reach the growing number of people who matter to God. Because they all matter to God, they should matterto us. We must build now for the future.”

God has called us to step forward and build somethinglasting for His Kingdom and His glory, so we aren’t waiting for the future to come—we’re taking action now. It’s not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit, and we’re trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us as we step into this new chapter.

As Pastor Shannon stated, the Build His Church project“is not about chairs and rooms but about hands and hearts.” It is about taking care of our home so that we can continue to support everything else God has called us to do—plant churches, support our community, and help spread the Gospel in our world.

“We need a new facility today to reach the growing number of people who matter to God. Because they all matter to God, they should matter to us.”

RODNEY FOUTS

PASTOR RODNEY’S VISION

Over 22 years ago, God gave Pastor Rodney a vision that would shape the future of what would become North Church. Our story is not just one of growth, but of steadfast faithfulness to God’s call.

As we look to the future, we remain anchored in the truth that unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain. And so, we will continue to Build His Church—not just with bricks and mortar, but by building up people, families, and a community that loves God, loves people, and follows Jesus.

HOW WE GOT HERE

Through challenges like the 2020 global pandemic, North Church never wavered in our mission to build God’s house. When life and church as we knew it changed, we adapted, expanding our reach and growing our weekly attendance by 53%. The commitment to Build His Church only grew stronger as our Oklahoma City location overflowed with people hungry for the Gospel. The need to add a fifth experience underscored the undeniable work that God was doing in our community.

The numbers only tell part of the story—600 baptisms in just a year and a half—but the heart of the story lies in the transformed lives, restored hope, and the growing community of believers. Each week, North serves as a house of hope where people from all walks of life encounter the love of Jesus. North is one church with additional locations in Guthrie, Lexington, Mabel Bassett, Somos, Freedom House, and an active online presence. Our reach extends beyond Oklahoma City, touching the lives of individuals across these various locations, all unified under the mission to Build His Church.

3D FLY-THROUGH VIDEO

Take a look at what’s ahead for North Church with this exclusive 3D flythrough of our new building. This is more than just a structure—it’s a place where lives will be transformed, families will grow in faith, and our community will gather to worship the King.

Let’s continue to pray and believe for all that God is building through us. Together, we’re creating a space for generations to encounter His presence and power.

PROJECTED TIMELINE

  • PARKING LOT COMPLETION

The completion of the expanded parking lot is a crucial milestone, providing the necessary infrastructure to accommodate our growing congregation and to support the next phases of the project. This foundational step will ease access and set the stage for the larger building expansion.

  • STARTING THE NEW FACILITY EXPANSION

In this phase, construction will begin on our new facility. To maintain the flow of church activities during construction, a temporary lobby and main entrance will be established at the back of the current building. This will ensure minimal disruption as we continue to gather and grow as a community.

  • COMPLETION OF NEW FACILITY EXPANSION

By fall, the highly anticipated new facility, complete with a 1,700-seat auditorium and enhanced lobby space, will be ready for use. This will mark a significant leap forward for North Church, creating more room for worship, connection, and ministry.

  • COMPLETION OF THE BUILD HIS CHURCH PROJECT

The full scope of the Build His Church initiative realized, as all phases, including renovations, new construction, and infrastructure improvements, are completed. This marks the culmination of our collective effort to build a space that serves our current needs and leaves a lasting legacy for future generations.

NEW FACILITY

EXPANSION PLAN

A state-of-the-art auditorium featuring stadium seating with a capacity of up to 1,700 seats. This design maximizes both comfort and visibility for our growing congregation.

To effectively utilize space, areas beneath the stadium seating will be allocated for essential functions including: restrooms, a nursing moms’ room, sensory rooms, a prayer room, a café, a merchandise area, volunteer space, and storage.

A spacious, inviting lobby designed for optimal circulation, allowing plenty of room for community engagement and fellowship.

A permanent water feature for baptism in the lobby, providing a central gathering spot for the church to celebrate baptisms regularly.

Expansion of the parking lot to accommodate over 700 vehicles, with three strategically-placed entry and exit points for easier access and reduced congestion.

Enhanced pedestrian safety and the creation of a welcoming environment by adding a beautiful courtyard area for foot traffic and special outdoor events.
